And the boy loved the tree — very much. And the tree was happy. – Shel Silverstein
It’s easy to stare at this tree as it stands less than 200 feet in front of me. It’s easy to ask aloud, “How old are you?” and “Do you miss your leaves?” and “What’s your favorite memory?”
I drove about 20 minutes to the Weston Public Library in one of the nation’s wealthiest communities — partially to visit the 43-member Minuteman Library Network and partially to take advantage of free wifi while researching job opportunities and customizing cover letters.
My job hunt takes me to many coffeehouses and libraries — but Weston is the kind of town I usually drive by to get from point A to point B. I’d never purposefully driven to this town before. But having stumbled into this reading nook and discovering this majestic tree, I’ll return.
The tree inspired me to write a blog post. That’s got to mean something. Maybe it can inspire other people to do other things and we can come together in unity.
