Following in the footsteps of Francine Jay and Dan Slee who shared 7 links about minimalism and 7 links about local government — and inspired by Katie who started the entire movement about talking about yourself — here is my curated list of 7 links.
I hope these blog article links inspire you on Friday and every other day of the week. I hope you read them and have fun.
1) My Most Beautiful Article
Homage to Brady, Our Family Cockapoo
How can you not appreciate a heartfelt article about the death of a dog? Brady was put to sleep in August 2010 and I wrote this in May 2011.
2) My Most Popular Article
Why I Deleted My Foursquare Account
Checking-into a location on a mobile device and sharing that location with the world can promote networking and raise awareness of the business or event at the location. But there are also concerns with privacy and this is why I deleted my account.
I wrote this in October 2010 and it continues to have the most amount of comments and social shares than anything else on this blog.
3) My Most Controversial Article
Why My Twitter Train is Stopping
Should you follow someone on Twitter or should you unfollow the person? I’ve changed my Twitter tactics more than most and this April 2009 article is testament to how ingrained some people believe in its power of community.
I wrote about unfollowing the world — and the world, especially those I was about to unfollow for a price, reacted.
4) My Most Helpful Article
12 Ways to Use LinkedIn Today
The evergreen status of this piece is as useful today as it was in July 2009 when I wrote it. You are encouraged to send me a LinkedIn invitation to connect and I will accept it, but please follow my advice at the bottom.
5) My Most Surprising Article
Why You Should Stop Writing Blog Comments
Ask someone to not do something and the person does it anyway. I blame curiosity as much today as in July 2011 when I wrote this.
6) My Most Lonely Article
Seeking Your Social Media Story
The weekly Feature Friday well is running dry and I’m desperately seeking new (and returning) voices to contribute their articles. I am unfortunately receiving more unsolicited emails from so-called expert writers who want SEO links than everyday readers who want to share something back.
Maybe this July 2011 article will see its second wind.
7) My Most Proud Article
Finding the Faith to Work for Yourself
I enjoyed writing this in April 2011 and every person I shared this link with responded the same way. Everyone enjoyed reading my sentences because they felt my words could have been their words, and the embedded videos equally resonated with everyone. It’s not easy to work for yourself. This piece shows why you owe it to yourself to persevere.
The above is about me.
