This infographic displays the most frequent words for my preferred job description. Culled from a dozen job vacancies posted on LinkedIn, small words appear a few times and large words appear a lot.
You can see that between my qualifications and responsibilities, I prefer that my next job involves communications, affairs, relations, media, and/or strategy. These keywords are aligned with my online searches, applications, phone screenings, and eventual interviews.
It’s notable that you don’t see any prominence of the words “social” or “digital” among the job responsibilities for which I’m applying. This is because I don’t want to be tethered to technology. While I’m capable of working exclusively in social, I prefer to work with people, evangelizing a product or service through outreach, relationship building, and other facets of demand generation.
