June 2010 seems like an eternity ago when I took initiative and created a LinkedIn Group to share strategies and tips in social media marketing. I invited friends and industry colleagues to join and participate. They did that, and they told their friends.
Over time, people none of us knew searched LinkedIn for keywords about social media marketing and also joined the group. They began posting valuable content.
There are over 16,000 LinkedIn members in the group today!
There is a lot of spam, mostly broadcasts and few conversations; but people are joining and others are contributing. I’m humbled.
