OK, so Digital River is to blame, but they are the e-commerce supplier of Symantec’s online store.
Earlier today, I’d ordered Norton Internet Security 2007 (to upgrade my 2006 version) and Norton SystemWorks Basic 2007 (to upgrade my legacy version), as prompted by my computer due to a pending expiration.
Now, I receive an automated email from Symantec, err Digital River, proclaiming, “We’re Sorry!”
I bet you are.
The product(s) you’ve ordered is currently out of stock and could not be shipped. The product(s) has been placed on back-order and will be shipped as soon as possible when the stock becomes available. You will receive another e-mail notification when your order has actually shipped. Your account has been pre-authorized, but you will NOT be charged until the product ships. Thank you for your patience and understanding.
So, if I get a hit with a virus in the meantime, do I get to sue the company?
