Inauguration Day was yesterday.
It was my second time.
My oath:
I, Ari Herzog, do solemnly swear that I will faithfully and impartially discharge and perform the duties of Councillor-at-Large of the City of Newburyport to which I have been elected in accordance with the Constitution of the United States, the laws of the Commonwealth, the Charter, and Ordinances of the City of Newburyport, to the best of my ability, so help me God.

Here’s to a successful 2012-13 term.
And, on a side note, I’m pronouncing the year as “twenty twelve” for the same reason 1980 is “nineteen eighty” and 1492 is “fourteen ninety two.” You’ll never hear me say “two thousand and twelve.”
