May 14 marked the fourth birthday of my creating this blog.
It’s seen many web locations, names, and iterations. The archive elaborates how I began writing about everything under the sun, then wrote about environmental issues, then segued into social media tips, and recently focused my writing about broader topics of emerging media.
What can you expect between now and May 14, 2012?
Why does this blog exist?
My father died from a sudden heart attack on May 14, 1995. He was 46.
I’ve written about him lots, including why he is the impetus for my blogging.
His memory continues in the treks of high school seniors who continue into college. For 16 years, my family has awarded college scholarships to them, and about a year ago we entered the 21st century and created an online donation form. May I interest you in donating a dollar to Dad’s name and helping to fund the scholarship?
Hey Ari, Happy Birthday to your blog and looking forward to the next 4 years!
Who knows if a blog as we know it today will exist in four years but thanks for the wish, Mark!
Some really exciting stuff planned then Ari!!!
Happy birthday blog
About your dad, may I say that from the bottom of my heart I am truly sorry for you. I think the dollar fund is a great idea, long may it live on as a great tribute to him.
Thanks Chris.
Hi, Ari
First of all, my heartiest congratulations with the great blog and blogging community. I wish your prosperity and wealth and even more great ideas.
Wish you realize all your plans and even more
You wish me wealth but can’t give me any?
Thanks Anna.
We are spreading the word about you and people come to you – they are potential customers!
You wrote about environmental issues, visit the archive. Think laterally and choose ‘Old’, OK.
I found 10 sustainable actions but the links are ‘Page not found’
I am sorry for your loss.
Wish you a happy fourth blogaversary! (They say blog years are like dog years, makes you and the blog about 28?)
Old links are still there, just using an older naming convention that frustrates me when I try to redirect them because the redirection code conflicts with other pages that don’t need to be redirected.

HAPPY BIRTHDAAY!
Thanks, George. Why are you a fan?
Ari, 4 years is really, really impressive. Good for you man and I hope you’ll have an amazing year ahead. Enjoyed reading this.
Marcus
If 4 is an impressive number, then inhale when I tell you I began blogging in 2004. It’s merely this blog that’s been continuous since 2007.
Thanks Marcus.
Hi Ari
Just found your blog for the first time tonight, congratulations on running it for 4 years. Many people give up after a matter of months so well done, and good luck for the future.
Matt
Thanks for finding me, Matt. What brought you here? And, will you now be sticking around and contributing more?
I was actually searching for commentluv enabled blogs but tend to only comment/bookmark the ones that are worth it
I’ll doubtless be back in the future!
Happy birthday of sorts!
I have just found your blog for the 1st time so I would imagine a fresh year in its life is as good a time as any to become involved and start reading. I have just expanded my roll at work to involve a little socal marketing to test the waters before passing over to an agency but even if we are to do that I will be overseeing their work so anything I can pickup is a big bonus!
Thanks for popping your head in, Jenny, and sharing your thoughts. I hope you share more thoughts.
Happy Anniversary to your blog.
Thanks!
First the obvious – Congratulations! I think we’ve all gone through the constant revisions, but you’ve done a great job providing insightful ways to utilize social media and all means of communication, really. Well done and thank you!
Thanks for the congrats!
Happy birthday to your blog, Ari!
I am happy that you started this blog because it has brought me and countless others a wonderful learning experience. Judging from what you have in store for us, I know we will be getting more.
Thanks for being so generous. And, I am sorry for the nature of your Dad’s passing.
What do you enjoy learning?
I like the different articles you put out about social media. I enjoy checking out your guests posts every Friday. I also dig those articles that give us an insight into who you are personally. You are a person who has a lot to offer, Ari. And, I enjoy soaking them up when I can.
Congrats Ari and happy birthday to your blog! We all are looking forward for another year of interesting and useful posts. Take care
Who is the first person plural, “we,” in your sentence? How many people are you, Paul?
Hi Ari,
First of all, a happy *belated* birthday to your blog! Sorry I missed the big day.
Your blog is truly one of the most interesting I read – I look forward to reading it every day.
Wishing you much continued success for the future..
-Petra
Never apologize for commenting after something is written. The web never dies.
Congratulations on making it four years! I couldn’t imagine even having enough to talk about for that long. Looking forward to learning some new tricks to help the business out
How many years have you lived? Surely you find things to talk about every day — with your voice. So, how’s a blog different?
Hey Ari, happy birthday to your blog; I wish you much success going forward.
I’m sorry to hear you lost your father at such a young age; I lost mine about the same time you did but I was already a grown adult. It’s never easy but unfortunately life isn’t always convenient for us.
Everything moves so fast in this arena who know what iteration will be in play 4 years from now.
You definitely do good work; keep it going.
Good to see you.
Thanks for your thoughts, Bill.
Hey Ari, Congratulations! Running a blog successfully for 4 long years really needs a big celebration. And I liked the points you discussed in the article describing about the future plans for the blog. Also I would suggest you to include forums inside your blog. Good Luck.
Congratulations, Ari and Happy Birthday to your blog! I’m glad to have found you so close to your blog’s birthday because this means that I will be among the recipients of the cool things to come.
Great to see individual voices can still stand out and stick around, Ari. The world needs more individuality, and you bring that in spades, mate.
Happy Blogday!
Hi Ari,

I’m late to say it but CONGRATULATIONS! Four years – wow! All the best for the next four years (four years sounds like an eternity in blogging years! I’m still just seven months in!)
