How You Can Get Netflix For Free

by Ari Herzog on Nov. 3, 2011 · 9 comments

I resisted Netflix from its beginnings in 1999 until earlier this summer when I downgraded my Comcast cable from their “digital preferred” package to basic cable (essentially about a dozen stations) and decided to pay Netflix $7.99 a month for the ability to stream movies and TV shows through my Roku player and onto my HDTV.

Comcast enables me to stream 250 gigabytes of data every month — which is quite a lot of data, considering I watched 120 episodes of “Lost” in marathon pace during the month of October and had 100 gig to go.

I’m currently watching “Battlestar Galactica” when time permits and other content when inspired.

If you’d like to try out Netflix for free, check out the offer below and click here when you’re ready.

Note: Netflix is not paying me.

They emailed me this offer and I’m sharing it on.

This is great news. One month for free is great for trial. Let’s try it and see what’s happen.

Very nice Ari.
Thanks for the offer. I am definitely going to try Netflix, at least for a month!
I’m not sure though if I can outreach the 120 episodes of “Lost” within a month, lol; I’ll do my best!!!
Thanks a lot Ari for sharing with us.

I have found Netflix to be good for watching a lot of documentaries and TV episodes but right now it seems like there aren’t a lot of movies available, especially new ones. I feel like I’m digging through the bargain bin when I browse the available movies to stream. Hopefully they grab a few new licensing deals to justify the higher prices they went to recently. It’s still worth it to go for a month free through to at least watch a lot that month then cancel.

I too resisted NetFlix for the longest time and then i caved. I think that NetFlix is ok – i cannot wait until they beef up their movies.

I tried netflix here in Canada, but didn’t like it.

The 1 month free was offered to everyone, but the content wasn’t really what I wanted.

Hi,
Netflix made a strategic mistake by raising their prices a few weeks back. Many customers became angry and canceled. Now I guess they are having to give away a month free to try to recover. It is a good service and reasonably priced considering it will cost $60-$80 to take a family of 4 to the movies and get popcorn and a drink.
Thanks,
Jim
