Who could have predicted that 1,183 distinct names wrote comments here over the past 12 months? Many names belong to the same person, such as writing “John” on some comments and “John Smith” on others, but each name represents a person who was voluntarily inspired to take moments out of their day and share thoughts.
To them and to you, I thank you.
Thank you for reading, subscribing, stumbling, digging, facebooking, tweeting, printing, emailing, reacting, and sharing me and my feature authors with your friends and colleagues.
I share the top 49 names below, representing those who commented more than 10 times. Special kudos to Christopher Roberts, Keith Davis, and Danny Brown for topping 100 comments. Please click their names below and visit their blogs.

You may observe that some names are written in the style of “firstname lastname” and others incorporate the @ symbol and subsequent text. This is due to the KeywordLuv plugin that used to be installed here and I since removed.
Please comment in the future with only your name. If you try to create comments with KeywordLuv styles, you will be edited and emailed.
Special thanks to Lorna Timbah for creating the Top Commentators plugin that created the above list.

I made the version that went out on the RSS feed but not the final version on the site. Still, I’m proud to be among your commenters. I hope you’ll continue to visit and comment on my blog as well.
I hope 2012 is your best year ever.
Gip
Err, grr, yeah, that was a list that pulled everyone from the history of this blog; and only moments ago did I edit it realizing I wanted to specify folks from this calendar year.
Thanks anyway!
Damn what a lot of comments, this post really struck my eye as I definitely need to start spreading my commenting love. Look forward to reading more of your posts Ari.
This is definitely get used how it should be
Thanks for stopping by and I hope you stop by more. You’re also welcome to contextually link back to your own articles when applicable.
(make that 86 for number 5 – Diana Studer of Elephant’s Eye).

You’re welcome, Ari. And thank you for blogging also.
BTW, you used Livefyre’s commenting system before, didn’t you? Just recently I saw they (finally!) enabled guest commenting, so I’m looking to (finally!) switch my blog’s comment system to theirs as well.
See if that works for you. And happy new year.
Yes I removed Livefyre after three months for a variety of reasons, including continual aggravation of marking spam comments as such on both the livefyre.com dashboard and my own wordpress dashboard.

Thank You Ari,
I am happy to see my name in this list.

Hey, I made a top 5 list…..
Hopefully I’m just commenting w/ my name; I don’t know what else I would put up there. I have been trying a few aliases, but I think the people see right through that.
So, what’s your strategy this year? You tried some different things last year, dropped some people, came back, howled at the moon; what’s working for you right now?
Has anybody told you social can be fickle?
Happy New Year sir, hope you have a good one.
What’s working for me in what sense, Bill? I can only be myself on the web for as you allude if I’m anyone else someone will know.

In the sense you felt it necessary to ‘unfollow’ people you felt you weren’t engaging with but only to come back and change your stance somewhat. I also recall a post about maybe a different direction or posting schedule or something. I was only referring to what you have discovered as your sustainability level. I never once thought you weren’t being ‘yourself’.

In at #15 with 29 comments – who would have thought it?
Thanks for this Ari – and all the best to you for 2012.
You’ve been active sharing your thoughts, David, so I believe it.

IIRC you did this last year, nice recognition for those who comment. Sure I won’t knock Bill outta the top 5, but I’ll be around in 2012 for sure. Enjoy your New Years.
Yes, and the year before! Here’s to you being in the top five of 2012!
I like this idea of yours… giving back to those who take the time to post some feedback is always awesome! Happy New Years…
It’s an annual event so glad you like!
Wow congratulations for having a thousand comments last year and I’m pretty sure that this year it will double the number. Keep up the good work Ari!

Glad I made the list Ari. Have a great 2012!
Wow, I added it up and I commented 293 times last year! Wow…
It was a good year Ari, thank you
BTW, nice touch adding the avatar this year, makes it more personal.
Oh yeah, nearly forgot, thanks for the “special kudos”
Hi Ari,
Congratulation for having thousands of list of commentators. I hope this year i will also added in your list.
