I asked you to de-lurk three years ago today.
You did.

On January 3, 2009, I challenged the shy and introverted to write comments. Maybe you were in that crowd.
I wondered who would write and who would reply. I mused how many people would return to read more and write more comments. I waited and waited — and 61 comments spoke to the success of de-lurking.
You did it again in 2010 and one more time in 2011.
Thank you for climbing the ladder.
With twenty twelve in full bloom, I ask you to de-lurk one more time. Add a comment. Introduce yourself.
You can retreat here to share your blog so take the time below to share a nugget about yourself, something you’d like me and other readers and commentators to know.
Where do you live? What keeps you busy? Do you have kids? How many other blogs do you read? How long have you read my blog? Have we met in person? Ideas? Complaints? Thoughts?
Put your inspiration down in a comment and share it with the world. Share yourself with the world. Share why you were inspired to write that sentence.
Use your real name so people can respond to you, and use your real email address so I can write you if anything’s wrong.
Any questions about de-lurking below?

So let’s see here. I’ve been reading for the past year, and always enjoy the information presented. Inspiration at its finest!
I love to blog and consult with companies in regards to their digital presence. I’m dealing with a disease at the moment, but love to dog sled, hike and play tennis when I am well.
And no kids. I’m 21 and have five wonderful younger siblings!
Thanks or the opportunity to share!
I can’t remember if I de-lurked in 2009-2011, I certainly have been reading your blog for that long. A participated in sharing my blog recently, but will share a bit more (very unintroverted on me!) I live in the San Francisco Bay Area and travel a lot both personally and professionally. I can do that as I am [happily] child-free. Work, blogging, traveling and eating while doing all of the above keeps me busy. I read over 500 blogs a week because I love discovering and being inspired by new blogs new people all the time. (I used to read books, now I read blogs unless I am on a plane or a beach.) I have read your blog for several years 3 at least. We may have been at some of the same conferences, but as I am rather shy I don’t seek people out.
Hi Ari,
Here we go again: with a real name and a real blog. Thanks for drawing my attention to that!
I am a Swiss, living at the border to France and Germany, English is my third language after German and French. I have started bloggig a little bit more than a year ago and started following you at about the same time. I like your provokative and inspiring posts. And yes, I did leave the occasional comment!
I blog about what is important to me: life, my passion for food, cooking and recipes, wine, travels, family and my dog. I have a daughter. My professional background is marketing and I currently work for a NPO.
I love to meet people, read blogs and write comments, I have met many lovely people in the last months and I look forward to a challenging, creative and productive year.
Thanks for giving us the opportunity to introduce ourselves and I look forward to hear from you!
Ari – you are slightly premature…national delurking day is normally Jan 14!
I check in periodically…keep on blogging! YEAT!

Hi, my name is Bill; I’m a closet blogger……..
I don’t think anyone has ever accused me of lurking; I’m usually ‘all in’……….
I’m writing because you asked people to de-lurk. I read blogs often and comment sometimes. This de-lurking is very revealing. I feel exposed :>)
Hi Ari,

Here I am delurking again, just for you
We almost met in person, but for some reason or another, I missed your trip to Denver
When we previously spoke, I was busy working in real estate investing. Having found that what I was doing took way too much time from my young kids, I now concentrate mostly on them… I am the queen of the road trip at this point in time. Took my kids on the road for a month and a half this summer and we had a fabulous time. They want to do it every year… so we will do it again until they can’t stand it any more.
Have a great day!!
Christy
Hi,I’m Joey. Just stumbled here. About lurking, actually I try my best not to become one. I do contribute something if I feel doing so, but most of the time. I just read conversation and if it interest me…I leave my thoughts.
Hey Ari,
Been a while since I last stopped by so I thought I’d leave a comment just to say hello! Hope all is well!
Hi Ari,
Just ran across your site on kikolani and thought I would visit, since it’s been awhile. Looks like a lot of people replied to your ‘de-lurk’ article. I guess some people just don’t post comments and stay in the background trying to learn as much as they can (I used to be one of those) but I am better now and try to interact as much as possible.
I have visited your blog more than 5 times I think, I try and comment regularly on posts I like if I have time. My blog is about how I came from a teenage homeless hostel 15 years ago but went on to become a successful entrepreneur and my advice for others to find success. I hardly ever read blogs until a year ago when I started mine and now when I have spare time I love to read different blogs. I visit about 25 blogs regularly. I have also written a book called How To Be Lucky which is about my story and my advice on making your own luck and success.
Hey, I’m Sean…total social media introvert, avid reader, and blog lurker! Love social, both online and offline, but they both take a great amount of time and energy to do right. Love the articles, keep them coming and I’ll come out of my shell more often
Cheers!
–Sean
