Featured Author Opportunities

Thank you for your interest in contributing to my blog and sharing your voice in the Feature Friday series.

Topics you can write about

Exploring new and emerging media, frequently written topics include:

  • social media marketing
  • social networking
  • internet tools
  • mobile technology
  • cloud computing
  • and related content

I believe that anyone can write an article on anything. The fact you are reading this sentence is proof you want to share your perspective. So, please pick a topic and inject your passion into its writing. Show me you care. Write in first person, please; or sprinkle enough pronouns such as I, Me, or My, that I know I’m reading from your heart and not only your head.

Please scroll through previous contributed articles to read what other guest authors have written.

Guidelines when writing your article

  1. Write in English. I may format your submission to ensure structure, but if your grammar is poor I will ask you to rewrite it.
  2. Write approximately 500 words or longer.
  3. Links are encouraged, but please note I will not accept affiliate links or multiple links to the same URL without reason.
  4. Images are encouraged. Attach them to your email or include in your article a link to where the image is hosted externally. Please credit the image owner when applicable.
  5. Be yourself. Show your personality. For instance, if you’re writing about a product or a tool, specify why you like it and how using it makes you feel.
  6. Be objective.
  7. Include 2-3 sentence biography of yourself. This will appear at the very bottom of the article. If you have any website or social networking profile links you’d like there, include them. Affiliate links or multiple links to the same blog are unacceptable without reason.
  8. Sign-up for a Gravatar account if you don’t already have one. Tell me the email address attached to that account; your image in the byline at the bottom of the article will be automatically fetched. If you don’t have a Gravatar, be warned you will have a blank avatar.

If you would like to proceed, please email me your article as an attached document (.txt, .doc, .docx, .odt, etc.). Raw HTML is preferred so I can copy and paste.

Benefits of writing here

Nearly 15,000 people around the world visit this Google PR5 blog every month. Articles are also syndicated and distributed to many sites. Occasionally newspapers pick them up. Be professional in your article.

By sharing your voice on these pages, you reach my readers and their social networks quickly and easily. Also, if you have your own blog, website, or social networking profile, you get your own byline here and readers will be able to click your links.

The fine print

I only publish new content, not previously-published articles from elsewhere online; and this is because search engines frown on duplicate online content. You are free to re-slant the focus of prior articles you’ve written.

I reserve the right to edit your article, to ensure there are no typographical errors and to maintain formatting structure.

Please note that, per this blog’s content policy, all words, images, video, and other content on this blog are uncopyrightable except where specified as the property of someone else.

When your article will be published

The Feature Friday series is published every week (or when there is one to print). You will be emailed if your proposed post is accepted or rejected. Please be patient if the response is not immediate.

If selected, your feature article will be scheduled for the next available Friday.

Note: You will be automatically emailed when your article receives comments. Please reply to those commentators when applicable. The more you reply, the more discussion and social sharing will occur.

Email me when you are ready to proceed.
