Four-and-a-half months into 2010 and I am making some headway into securing speaking and writing opportunities to enable much-needed income, but I still have a ways to go.
While the bulk of 2009 involved online community management activities, that ended in September and, after a break focusing on my city council campaign, I am once again working hard every day to pigeonhole my desire to provide services around digital marketing and cloud computing (or social media, to the initiated), with a focus on the public sector. I’ve done my research and determined there are few, if any, agencies in Massachusetts that are staffed with social media evangelists, government relations experts, and elected officials. I am all three.
On the plus side, I don’t have the knack.
On the minus side, organizations don’t have me. So, my mission over the coming weeks is to find those organizations in seek of consulting assistance to narrow the digital divide and increase civic engagement, those who are looking for me but don’t know I exist, and to assure them that I am their man.
