Among my iPad apps is a quote-of-the-day rolodex of positivity and motivational thoughts called Transform Your Life — and the quote for December 28 is stuck in my head. It’s from Nelson Mandela:
“There is nothing like returning to a place that remains unchanged to find the ways in which you yourself have altered.”
If you can identify with being a stranger in a familiar space, then you can identify with my sensations on the first day of a new year.
You see, I became a stranger on the 28th. I’d previously experienced something that was both wonderful and unexpected; and when I opened my eyes that morning, I realized that the wonder was suddenly gone and I was unsure what would happen next.
That’s when I saw the Mandela quote and blinked, recognizing that the uncertainty of tomorrow is part of life and that I should be grateful for the life change because I also changed.
I don’t know what will happen tomorrow or the day after or the day after that. All I know is I’ve positively changed and I’m motivated to follow the road wherever it goes.
P.S. Thanks for reading my blog; and I hope you have a sweet 2016.
