There comes a time in every blogger’s life when a choice must be made: do you keep doing things the way you’ve always done them, or do you step out of your box and ask someone to do it for you?
This blog is powered by WordPress — and the Thesis framework, a premium theme that sits on top of WordPress. I bought Thesis in November 2008.
As the 3-year anniversary approaches, I reflect upon blogs shifting designs from premium to customized and whether now is a good a time to follow.
You can’t get more minimal than stripping a paid framework and starting fresh; but there are also costs involved in hiring someone to do that work — and that expense is not something I’m comfortable with right now. Whether a bartering situation is possible, such as my helping so and so with editorial services or managing an online community, I don’t know.
What do you think? Should I depart from a theme and go natural?
Why or why not?
