It used to be taboo to promote your own blog articles on Digg but, since June 2010 when the social bookmarking site was improved, this is no longer frowned upon.
This change should be good news for you the blogger, for your goal is to increase inbound traffic and eyeballs, right?
Presuming you have an RSS feed for your blog, you merely have to log into your Digg account and follow the prompts to verify to Digg you are the owner of your blog.

In my case, I needed to include a gobbledygook series of letters and numbers in a blog article — eebfd1c39e0044b082ac752b5a2cce45 — which Digg discovered when this was syndicated through RSS.
Every blog has its own verification key.
Of the many benefits of Digg, what do you like and what do you hate? Are you an active Digger? Care to share any pointers below?

Honestly Ari, I have never used Digg, and I don’t really know what its for… it is sort of like Technorati?

Thank you Ari, I didn’t realize you could syndicate to Digg. I will try it out and let you know…
I’m not too familiar with Digg either so I look forward to researching it a bit and possibly trying it out.

Count me in on the number of people who don’t use Digg and don’t know what it’s for. It’s nice to hear that they’ve improved on their system but it might be a bit too late for that now since no one even knows how to use their site.
I am not an active member of Digg, though I try to at least submit significant news article in my account. Of the things I noticed with Digg is that other Digg users will not bring you new visitors. Unlike in Stumbleupon… stumblers can increase your site’s traffic.
Thanks for sharing this i used to submit it manually to digg and other social networks. can you share some of the other social networks use this feature for auto update through RSS Syndication.
I am definitely an active digger. I have been using Digg for some years now and I don’t have nothing negative to say about it. I usually use digg to promote my own blog articles and sometimes other blog’s articles. The only tip I can provide is to use something like socialmarker to make the bookmarking process quicker.
Thanks Ari, I was unaware it was no longer taboo to push your own stuff on Digg.
I’m now all synced up.. cheers.
I’ve a very passive member of Digg, and I’ve only used it a few times to promote my own sites.
But thanks for this work-around.
I’ve used Digg maybe once or twice and had no idea that it did this. Very nice feature. I had heard that digg can be a good way of promotion, but just hadn’t gotten around to looking into it.
It’s definitely a big change for Digg and Digg has changed quite a bit. The thing is that Digg has lost a lot of flare so I wonder where the overhaul and changes like this one will take Digg in the future.
I’ve been a member of Digg for a number of years and I think the biggest problem I see with syndicating your blog is that Digg is a news community. Yes, people Digg stories that aren’t news articles, but you’ll notice most of the Top dugg content is news content.
While I like that the new Digg is more open to self promotion, I do feel that the community behind it is still a very similar demographic and ultimately if it’s not “news” it may not fare as well.
Fair points. Though, if a site enables syndication of a blog why not say yes?
